The period from earliest pregnancy to preschool is critical in human life and this is the focus of our work. There is a growing body of research which shows that experiences during a child’s first 1000 days can have lifelong consequences for health and wellbeing. With this in mind, the Caroline Chisholm Society is focused on supporting women with their pregnancy and early parenting to create safe and nurturing environments for infants and young children.
We work with the whole family to support secure attachment, optimise child outcomes through parenting interventions, prevent and alleviate the impacts of poverty, homelessness, family violence and mental health issues that have an impact on parent and child wellbeing. Our areas of focus are: Supporting women through pregnancy
