As many as one in five Australian women experience perinatal anxiety or depression. We recognise that being a new parent can be a time of fear, uncertainty and isolation for many and that timely and compassionate support is essential. That’s why we have the knowledge toolls and expertise to help guide and support families through these challenges.
The perinatal mental health service is available to current clients of the The Caroline Chisholm Society.
- Support may involve screening, short-term intervention, and coordination with other services (e.g., GP, maternal and child health, psychiatry) where appropriate and with consent.
If you are looking for any additional resources and organisations that may also able to support you during this time:
- PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia)
- Raising Children Network
- COPE (Centre of Perinatal Excellence)
- Gidget Foundation
We encourage you to reach out early if you or a loved one have concerns about postnatal mental health.
