We believe that every child deserves access to basic clothing and essential items and that families should never be left to manage alone when facing challenges that affect their ability to care for their children and support their wellbeing.
Through the generous support of our community, the Caroline Chisholm Society is able to recycle equipment and provides other essential mother and baby items. These donated resources come from generous individuals and organisations across Victoria and help ensure families have the essentials they need during times of hardship.
We provide free nappies and wipes for families with children aged 0–5, ensuring little ones have the essentials they need.

Thanks to our generous community, we provide handmade knitwear and sewn baby items to help keep little ones warm, cosy, and cared for.

To help ease daily pressures, we supply toiletries for adults and babies as part of our practical family support.

From the first time families contact us, our trained practitioners work to understand each family’s unique needs. We work alongside parents to build their confidence in caregiving and to address safety and wellbeing concerns, including family violence, homelessness, financial hardship and social isolation.
We support families to connect to early childhood, community, and mental health services. We also offer a safe, culturally responsive space for women from CALD backgrounds facing immigration, refugee, or visa‑related challenges.
The Caroline Chisholm Society has provided material aid programs for over 50 years. As one of the first programs of its kind established, it remains a vital source of support across the western suburbs of Melbourne and Shepparton.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the community for your ongoing generosity. We simply couldn’t support families the way we do, without you.
